NOTE: No special references to Rules are included in this Section of Classes.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH COMPETITOR TO READ AND ADHERE TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS.
Students are encouraged to enter at least two classes.
Accompaniment is to be by piano only unless otherwise specified.
The Vocal solo section is divided into three categories:
ADULT SENIOR - 22 years of age or over unless where the class states "OPEN"
INTERMEDIATE - 17 years of age to 21 years of age inclusive
JUNIOR - 16 years of age and under

The Board of the Music Festival reserves the right to cancel any classes if the number of entries in these classes are insufficient. Applicant fees will be returned in full.

33 yrs. of age or older
Maximum time limit of 40 minutes; two or more languages to be used; one selection from an opera with recitative, original key, language optional; one selection from a major sacred work, original key, language optional; one own choice selection.
PLEASE NOTE: Classes that are 'Open' may be programmed in the evening. Accompaniment must be by piano and can include ONE other instrument if the music is so written.
16 years of age and under.
Competitor's own choice of one selection to be sung in a language other than French or English. Translation must be provided for the adjudicator.
Must not have been performed in a musical, stage production, animated film, movie musical or revue.
No costumes or props.
Live, instrumental accompaniment only, no pre-recorded music.
No microphones, drum kits or amplification of any kind will be permitted.
An original copy of music must be provided to the adjudicator.
Not eligible for playoff competition.
