Stringed Instruments Classes
No special references to rules are included in this Section of Classes. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH COMPETITOR TO READ THE RULES AND REGULATIONS AND TO ENTER THE CORRECT CLASS.
Competitors must have ORIGINAL music for all classes for the adjudicator. Competitor's must provide own music stands and you must provide your own accompanist. Accompaniment is to be by piano only unless otherwise specified. NO TAPED ACCOMPANIMENT ALLOWED.
** The Board of the Music Festival reserves the right to cancel any classes if the number of entries in these classes are insufficient. Applicant fees will be returned in full.
FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, 'STRINGED INSTRUMENTS' REFERS TO THE VIOLIN, VIOLA, CELLO OR DOUBLE BASS.
** FOR ALL CLASSES ENTERED PLEASE INDICATE ON THE ENTRY FORM THE APPROXIMATE PERFORMANCE TIME FOR EACH PIECE BEING PERFORMED.

Abbreviations in this section are to be interpreted as: Jr. - Junior level - Grade 5 and under Int. - Intermediate level - Grades 6, 7 & 8 Sr. - Senior level - Grade 9 and up
NOTE: Ensembles in these classes may be comprised of any combination of strings. The accompanist in these classes will not be adjudicated.
NOTE: String players and pianist will be adjudicated in this section. The combined mark of string player(s) and pianist will determine the winner. The pianist may play in only one entry in this section and must be at a comparable music level of study as the string player(s). ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS THE NAMES OF BOTH PIANIST AND STRING PLAYER(S) ARE SUBMITTED ON THE ENTRY FORM.

NOTE: The following classes are to be composed of any combination of Strings Woodwind, Brass and/or Percussion and including Piano instruments.
NOTE: No accompaniment or conducting is permitted in these classes. Ensembles in these classes may be comprised of any combination of strings.
